A person with any six usable fingers can play an entire chromatic scale from c'' to a'''. If seven fingers are available in any combination, the range is extended by three semitones.

This recorder is designed to be used by players who have two or more usable fingers in either hand, in addition, a total of six and more usable fingers in both hands. When seven fingers are available, the lowest tone is f'. And when six fingers are available, the lowest tone is g'.
